2 Gate Range Expand

A flexible PvT opening with two gateways and an early dragoon range upgrade, followed by a natural expansion. More aggressive than 1 Gate FE, this build uses ranged dragoons to contest map control while still securing a two-base economy. The range upgrade is essential — it allows dragoons to kite marines and fight siege tanks from outside their vision.

The key decision after expanding is your tech path: add a robotics facility for observers and reavers, or go templar archives for storm. Scout Terran's composition to decide. Keep producing dragoons from both gateways while teching — they form the backbone of your army throughout the mid-game.

This build works well on maps where dragoon mobility matters and natural expansions are defensible. It is stronger than 1 Gate FE against Terran builds that try to pressure early, since you have more gateway units. Weak against early siege tank pushes that arrive before your expansion is running, and against fast vulture harass that exploits your focus on dragoon production over static defense.
