The standard safe PvT opening. Build a single gateway, produce one zealot and then dragoons, and take your natural expansion while the initial units provide defense. This prioritizes economy over early aggression, aiming to outscale Terran in the mid-game.

After expanding, the key decision is your tech path: robotics facility for reaver harassment or observer support, or templar archives for high templar and storm. Scout to determine which Terran build you are facing — mech or bio — and choose accordingly. Add gateways as your economy grows.

1 Gate FE works on most maps and is the default PvT choice when you want a safe, reliable game. It is strongest against standard Terran openers that also expand. Weak against aggressive 2-rax marine pressure that hits before your dragoons are out, and against proxy factory rushes that exploit the delayed gateway count. You sacrifice early map control for long-term economic advantage.
